Matt is a venture investor, serial entrepreneur, company advisor, and former junior tennis player. Prior to founding Cherubic, Matt co-founded Tian-Ge in China and 91APP in Taiwan, both of which went public at over $1B+ in market cap. Matt is also a company advisor to Wish and Atomic VC, as well as an early investor in 12 of the world’s top unicorns, including Flexport, Calm, Hims&Hers, Paidy, and Bellabeat.

    Tina Cheng

    Tina is a Partner at Cherubic Ventures. Tina is responsible for driving Cherubic’s new investments and leading portfolio management globally. She’s one of the earliest members of Cherubic and has led deals including Calm, Hahow, and Pinkoi. Prior to joining Cherubic Ventures, Tina worked at Yahoo’s Connected Life division to drive adoption and Cisco’s global distribution team in Silicon Valley. Later on, she returned to Asia to co-found an education startup in Asia. Tina held an MBA degree from UCLA Anderson.

    Pierre Arys

    Pierre is a technology entrepreneur and partner at Cherubic Ventures. Prior to joining Cherubic, Pierre co-founded Diamond, an ML startup solving data and information retrieval problems. He began his career in institutional investing working with 8VC, a US-based venture capital firm that manages several billion dollars. Before focusing on investing, Pierre was a software engineer and an early team member at Addepar while he attended university. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

    Danielle Dudum

    Danielle is a Partner at Cherubic Ventures and oversees Cherubic’s US investments and operations. Prior to joining Cherubic, Danielle spent nearly 8 years at Google building and leading international sales and operations teams. While at Google, Danielle advised startups through Blackbox Connect and was the global program manager supporting female entrepreneurs in emerging markets. She is a San Francisco native and holds her MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

    Snow Hua

    Snow joined the Cherubic team as director of operations in January 2014. She is a Partner at Cherubic Ventures and is responsible for overall investor relations in Asia. Snow leads Cherubic’s investment and overall portfolio management in China. Prior to Cherubic, Snow worked in various marketing positions at Sina (NASDAQ:SINA). Snow holds a Journalism degree from China Youth University of Political Science in Beijing.

    Mabel Hsu

    Mabel joined the Cherubic team as investor relations in March 2020. She is a Partner at Cherubic Ventures, co-leads our investor relations, and coordinates with the finance team. Mabel has over 15 years of investment banking experience from Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, and Mizuho Securities. She also worked in investor relations at Alibaba Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Matt is the founder and managing partner of Cherubic Ventures. He has 15+ years of entrepreneurial and venture investment experience in Silicon Valley and Greater China, and was named a “Top 40 under 40” early-stage investor in China by Cyzone in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Born in Taipei, Matt grew up in the US and launched his career in Greater China. Before starting his career in venture capital, Matt was the top-ranked ITF world junior tennis player in Taiwan! Matt loves tennis, and is a talented athlete. While the thought of a professional tennis career was tempting, Matt instead decided to pursue his entrepreneurial passions. He studied Information Management at the National Taiwan University and soon after graduating, joined Tian Ge Interactive, China’s largest live social video platform, as a founding team member and chief strategy officer. Matt successfully led their 1.5B IPO in Hong Kong in 2014. Matt also co-founded Fotoable Inc, a photo editing and collage mobile app, that’s now been downloaded in over 40 countries worldwide!

In 2014, Matt felt compelled to enable others and their entrepreneurial passions. He had experienced both the pain and gratification of dreaming and building, and founded Cherubic Ventures to support founders and their desire to change the world. His unique and global lens on business model innovation and consumer behavior led him to be among the first investors in Hims & Hers, Calm, Flexport and Wish. Many first-tier venture firms have followed on including Founders Fund, Google Ventures and Sequoia, leading Cherubic to become one of the pioneering institutional angel investors worldwide.
